did you know that most banks won’t take your change now? and pretty much everyone you go will charge you to cash in your coins? we’ve had this jar of change sitting around and finally figured out what to do with it. we heard a tip that if you go to one of those Coinstar things at the grocery store, you can avoid the 11% fee as long as you skip the cash and put the money directly on to gift card for places like Amazon.com, Gap, iTunes, Lowe’s, Nike, Southwest Airlines, Starbucks, Home Depot, etc. There’s even a Donate to Charity option.
so on saturday morning we marched into CVS with our jar of coins and watched as the counter clicked up to $193… i was shocked there was all that just sitting in a jar. Hellooooooo, Amazon.com and thank you, Coinstar.
